There are a number of variables that come into play when deciding how much to pay our models. First we try and find out what other producers are paying in your area. It also depends on how much we want out of the model in any given shoot. If we take him on location for a day the model may expect more money. Some models want more money if you put them in an action shoot. Depending on how much he’s been paid by other producers, an experienced model may demand more money.

We never pay by the hour, because some models can eat up a lot of time just trying to get hard. Generally we pay $300 for a first time two or three hour solo shoot – stills or video. Even if you are an amateur producer, you will have difficulty finding anyone to perform for you for less then that (at least if you are located in the US).
